Job summary

MPRTC Recruitment is assisting a South African client with a senior workshop role for a Diesel Mechanic with supervisory responsibilities in Gauteng. The ideal candidate has solid experience in heavy vehicle and trailer maintenance, and a strong focus on fleet reliability and safety compliance.

You will oversee workshop activities, allocate tasks, and ensure roadworthy standards are met while maintaining downtime KPIs.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 / Matric is required.
• Diesel mechanic qualification or equivalent certification.
• Supervisory or management experience in a workshop environment.
• Experience with trailer or heavy vehicle maintenance.
• Strong fleet maintenance and preventative maintenance experience.
• Breakdown management and vehicle repair experience.
• Workshop team supervision and work allocation.
• Knowledge of roadworthiness, safety and workshop compliance.
