Job summary

Vector Logistics in Polokwane is seeking a Transport Manager to lead fleet and workshop operations, ensuring productivity and performance are maximized across the hub. You will oversee daily schedules, driver compliance, and vehicle utilisation to support efficient deliveries.

The role requires a diploma in supply chain/logistics, Matric, and a Code EB driver's license with at least three years' transport management experience.

Qualifications

• Matric.
• Minimum of a diploma in supply chain/logistics or similar.
• Valid Code EB drivers' license.
• A minimum of 3 years in a transport management environment.

Responsibilities

• Manage the daily schedule.
• Check that a job card has been allocated to work and that the driver has managed to complete the form correctly.
• Ensure that drivers complete the checklist every morning and afternoon to establish if there are any defaults.
• Monitor transport performance against benchmarks by obtaining vehicle exception reports from the tracking department as a means of monitoring drivers’ conduct and vehicle performance.
• Record and report maintenance needs and vehicle inspections.
• Reconcile hired trucks kilometres to supplier shipments on a daily basis.
• Ensure that all vehicles are used optimally by checking that they are loaded to capacity and updated on the Vehicle Utilization Report daily.
• Manage routes ensuring that time is optimized for each delivery.
