Job summary

SARS seeks a Finance Specialist with strong fleet management and accounting expertise to join the CFO – Finance – Own Accounts Unit. The role requires independent work, cross-functional collaboration, and adherence to governance standards.

Ideal candidate has a finance background, excellent organizational and communication skills, and proven experience in financial analysis, GL reconciliations, and audits. Location is Pretoria, with a focus on internal controls and timely operations.

Qualifications

• Relevant B-Comm Degree in Accounting / Advanced Diploma in Accounting (NQF 7) and 5-7 years in a Finance environment, 2-3 years technically skilled.
• Alternative: Senior Certificate (NQF 4) and 10 years related experience in finance.
• Experience in fleet management, accounting activities, GL and vendor reconciliations.
• Familiar with audits and GRAP standards.

Responsibilities

• Be observant and engage on possible violations and escalate as needed.
• Identify and resolve queries and problems within guidelines.
• Plan and organise own work tasks within area of responsibility.
• Provide specialist input on financial processes and risk assessment.
• Support internal/external audits and governance initiatives.
