Job summary

Greys Personnel is seeking a qualified Fitter passionate about customer service and skilled in assembling, maintaining and fault-finding hydraulic systems for industrial and mobile applications.

The successful candidate will read hydraulic schematics, interpret circuits and contribute to safe, efficient operation while developing technical skills within a collaborative team.

Willingness to work overtime, standby, and travel, plus a Code 8 driver's license and medically fit, completes the profile.

Qualifications

• Post-matric qualification or N3 is required.
• Qualified Fitter with a Red Seal Trade Test essential.
• Experience as a Fitter or similar technical role.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics.
• Experience with hydraulic systems is an advantage.
• Sound knowledge of mobile and industrial hydraulic systems.
• Valid Code 8 driver’s license.
• Medically fit to perform the duties of the position.
• Willingness to work overtime, standby and travel when required.

Responsibilities

• Assemble machinery and equipment prior to installation.
• Perform diagnostic tests on functioning machinery to ensure safe and efficient operation.
• Conduct fault-finding on hydraulic systems.
• Repair and replace equipment and components as required.
• Commission hydraulic systems and equipment.
• Read, interpret and understand hydraulic circuits.
• Apply sound technical knowledge of mobile and industrial hydraulic systems.
• Provide professional customer service and technical support.
• Work effectively as part of a team and under pressure.
• Participate in overtime, standby duties and occasional travel as required.
