Job summary

PG Bison, a proudly South African and world-class manufacturer of wood-based decorative panels and associated products, is seeking a qualified and experienced Fitter and Turner to join our Engineering and Maintenance team at our Ugie manufacturing facility.

You will provide mechanical maintenance expertise to ensure optimal plant reliability, equipment performance, and safe and efficient manufacturing operations.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance on mechanical equipment
• Conduct breakdown repairs and fault-finding
• Carry out machining and fitting tasks as required
• Install and service mechanical components and equipment
• Support continuous improvement and minimise unplanned downtime
• Ensure maintenance activities comply with safety standards and procedures

PG Bison, a proudly South African and world-class manufacturer of wood-based decorative panels and associated products, is seeking a qualified and experienced Fitter and Turner to join our dynamic Engineering and Maintenance team at our Ugie manufacturing facility.

In this critical role, you will provide mechanical maintenance expertise to ensure optimal plant reliability, equipment performance, and safe and efficient manufacturing operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting preventative maintenance, breakdown repairs, fault-finding, machining, fitting, and the installation and servicing of mechanical equipment.

The Fitter and Turner will also support continuous improvement initiatives, identify potential equipment failures, minimise unplanned downtime, and ensure that all maintenance activities comply with company safety standards and engineering procedures. Working closely with production, maintenance, and engineering teams, the successful candidate will contribute to improved plant availability, operational efficiency, and the long-term reliability of manufacturing equipment.
