Job summary

Power Group is seeking a suitably qualified Fitter and Turner to join our workshop team. The successful candidate will manufacture, fit, assemble, maintain and repair mechanical components to ensure plant reliability and adherence to safety and quality standards.

The role requires a Red Seal Fitter and Turner with Grade 12, 3–5 years of post-trade experience, and proficiency with lathes, milling machines, drills and precision measuring tools.

Qualifications

• Trade-qualified Fitter and Turner with Red Seal.
• Grade 12 or equivalent is required.
• Post-trade mechanical maintenance experience is essential.

Responsibilities

• Fit, align and assemble mechanical components, pumps, shafts, gearboxes and related equipment.
• Machine, refurbish and repair components using lathes, milling machines, drills and other workshop equipment.
• Perform preventive, scheduled and breakdown maintenance on mechanical systems and equipment.
• Dismantle, inspect, repair and reassemble equipment to restore functionality and reliability.
• Conduct fault-finding and recommend corrective actions.
• Assist with equipment rebuilds and maintenance shutdown activities.
