Job summary

Tiger Brands is seeking a maintenance technician to maintain engineering equipment to world-class standards and provide support to the Maintenance Coordinator. The role includes keeping plant availability above 95%, carrying out repairs, and assisting with production activities in a shift-driven environment.

Responsibilities include supporting shift teams, participating in planned maintenance, and ensuring safety and compliance throughout the plant.

Qualifications

• Core knowledge in Maintenance Systems and Engineering standards
• Qualified Fitter with understanding of high speed packaging machinery
• Apscetic Controls knowledge
• NTC3 and matric maths/science required
• Analytical and problem-solving skills
• Trade Certification preferred

Responsibilities

• Provide operational support to shift-based teams during operations
• Carry out running repairs on plant equipment
• Apply problem-solving approaches to resolve issues
• Participate in planned maintenance meetings and clarify work required
• Maintain housekeeping and safety, identify unsafe practices
• Ensure plant availability is above 95%
• Comply with all standards
• Serve as aseptic controller and assist production during seasonality

Main Responsibilities

You willbe responsible for maintaining Engineering Equipment to world class standards while providing support to the Maintenance Coordinator. Youwill support the teamin embedding maintenance processes within the organization with the key deliverables of maintaining the Integrity of the Plant.You will maintain, repair and optimize plant and associateddevices toensure plant availability and product quality at minimumcost.

• Operational Support – Provide specialist support to the shift-based teams during operations. Where requested assist as a functional expert in problem solving.

• Running Repairs – Partake in carrying out repairs on plant equipment

• Problem Solving – Where problems have occurred during routine activities, apply the correct problem-solving approach to resolve problems.

• Planned Maintenance – Take part in maintenance planning meetings, contributing suggestions and clarifying work required

• Housekeeping & Safety – Operate in a safe manner at all times, identify and highlight unsafe work practices so that these may be corrected

• Always ensure Plant availability of >95%

• Ensure all compliance standards are met

• The artisan will be working shifts in season time and fulfil the duty of aseptic controller and assist with production activities.
