Job summary

Placements24 invites applications for a Commercial Airline Pilot to join as First Officer for a client based in George, Western Cape. You will support the Captain, uphold safety standards, and operate within a modern flight network.

The ideal candidate holds an ATPL or CPL with ratings, at least 1500 total hours, and a current Class 1 Medical certificate. A jet type rating is preferred; you must be eligible to work in South Africa and reside within commuting distance of George.

Qualifications

• ATPL or CPL certificate required with valid ratings.
• Minimum flight hours: 1500 total time.
• Type rating on a commercial jet.
• Current Class 1 Medical Certificate.
• Legally eligible to work in South Africa and reside near George.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Captain with flight planning and execution.
• Monitor flight instruments, weather conditions, and navigation systems.
• Communicate effectively with Air Traffic Control, flight crew, and cabin crew.
• Manage aircraft systems, including engines, hydraulics, and electrical systems.
• Perform pre-flight checks and ensure the aircraft is airworthy.
• Respond to abnormal situations and emergencies per procedures.
• Maintain flight logs and documentation accurately.
• Provide excellent customer service to passengers during the flight.
• Adhere to duty time limitations and rest requirements.
• Participate in recurrent training and simulator sessions to maintain proficiency.
