Job summary

Placements24 seeks a certified Fire Systems Technician to join our Centurion team in Gauteng. The role covers installation, maintenance, inspection and testing of fire detection and suppression systems for commercial and residential properties.

You will ensure compliance with SANS standards and provide client training and support. A valid driver’s license and 3+ years’ experience are required, with SAQCC Fire certification preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years hands-on experience with fire detection and suppression systems.
• Certification with SAQCC Fire preferred.
• Proficiency in programming fire panels such as Notifier, Honeywell and Siemens.
• Knowledge of SANS 10139 and related fire safety standards.
• Strong understanding of electrical principles and schematics.
• Good communication and report-writing skills.

Responsibilities

• Install, program, and commission fire alarm panels, detectors, and sprinkler systems.
• Perform inspections, testing, and maintenance of fire detection and suppression systems.
• Troubleshoot faults and identify root causes.
• Ensure compliance with SANS codes, regs, and manufacturer specs.
• Maintain detailed service records and test results.
• Provide client training on operation and basic maintenance.
• Respond to emergency service calls and ensure timely resolutions.
• Collaborate with sales/project teams for smooth delivery.
• Stay updated with latest technologies and regulatory changes.
