Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a diligent Fire Safety Systems Technician in Benoni to install, test and maintain fire alarm and sprinkler systems. You will work with building managers to ensure regulatory compliance and safety, analyzing blueprints and diagnostic data to resolve faults efficiently.

The ideal candidate has hands-on experience, a strong safety mindset, and a commitment to protecting lives and property in Gauteng. A valid driver’s license is required for local travel.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Fire Safety Systems Technician or related role.
• Strong knowledge of fire alarm and sprinkler systems and safety codes (e.g., SANS).
• Proficiency in reading blueprints and wiring diagrams for fire protection systems.
• Experience with diagnostic tools and testing equipment for fire safety systems.
• Excellent attention to detail and commitment to safety and regulatory compliance.
• Valid driver's license and ability to travel within Benoni and surrounding Gauteng areas.

Responsibilities

• Install, test, and commission fire alarm panels, detectors, sprinkler systems and related safety equipment.
• Conduct regular inspections and preventative maintenance to ensure operational readiness.
• Diagnose and repair faults while ensuring compliance with codes and standards.
• Maintain accurate records of installations, inspections, tests and repairs.
• Provide technical support and guidance to clients on operation and maintenance.
• Stay up-to-date with fire safety regulations and technologic advancements.
