Hire Resolve is assisting a multi-disciplinary engineering consulting firm in Cape Town to hire a mechanical engineer focusing on fire safety and building services. The role involves developing compliant fire safety designs for complex projects across South Africa, while managing small to large projects with varying levels of guidance and representing the company in client and site meetings.

Qualifications

• BTech/BEng in Mechanical Engineering (required).
• Strong MS Word and MS Excel skills.
• 3 years’ experience in mechanical building services environments.
• 3 years’ experience in SANS deemed to satisfy and rational building fire.
• Experience in design of firefighting equipment, thermal modelling, smoke evacuation systems, stair pressurization systems and fire sprinkler systems.

Responsibilities

• Developing fire safety and compliance designs for multi-disciplined construction projects throughout South Africa
• Manage small and medium projects with limited guidance
• Manage large projects on experience-proven basis or as part of company fire design management team
• Professionally represent company in client meetings, site meetings and surveys
• Assist with preparation of tender documentation and general project management administration
