Job summary

Snatch | Accounting & Finance Headhunters partners with a leading UK audit and accountancy firm to hire a Financial Systems Analyst on a 12-month fixed-term contract. The role is based in Foreshore, Cape Town, with hybrid working and UK hours to align with the client’s business rhythm.

You will own core finance systems and reporting, driving technology adoption as the firm scales, and will mentor two junior analysts while delivering enhanced financial data capabilities.

Qualifications

• Relevant tertiary qualification in Finance, Accounting or Information Systems.
• 6+ years' experience in financial systems, reporting, or financial data analysis.
• Strong technical proficiency in SQL queries and Power BI dashboard creation for financial data reporting.
• Practical experience managing or administering practice management software and accounting ERP systems.
• Solid working knowledge of database administration, financial data management, and process automation.
• Sound understanding of core financial accounting principles, reconciliations, and reporting cycles.

Responsibilities

• Administer core practice management and accounting software platforms, ensuring security, user roles, and data integrity.
• Design, build, and maintain automated financial dashboards and executive management reporting using Power BI and SQL.
• Perform regular database administration, routine troubleshooting, and system health checks across finance applications.
• Evaluate existing financial workflows to identify opportunities for process automation and eliminate manual reporting steps.
• Support month-end and year-end closing processes, financial reconciliations, and annual budgeting cycles.
• Provide technical guidance, user support across the firm, and daily mentoring to two junior finance analysts.

Role Overview

Our client, a leading UK audit and accountancy firm, is looking for an experienced Financial Systems Analyst to join its finance team on a 12-month fixed-term contract.

This is a high-impact role for someone who enjoys sitting at the intersection of finance, systems, data and process improvement. Working aligned UK business hours, you’ll take real ownership of the firm’s core financial systems and reporting environment, while helping shape how the finance function uses technology as the business continues to grow.

Reporting to the Finance Systems Manager, you’ll oversee day-to-day finance systems, develop Power BI and SQL-driven reporting, build automated management dashboards, and mentor two junior analysts. You’ll also play a key role in streamlining financial workflows, improving data integrity, reducing manual processes, and supporting major upcoming finance system implementations.

Key Responsibilities
