Job summary

Time Personnel in Constantia, Cape Town, is seeking a Financial Manager to own the full finance function in a high-pressure logistics and transport environment. You will report to the Directors, lead two accounts staff, and drive month-end close, cash flow, and statutory compliance using Xero.

The ideal candidate has a BCom with CA preferable or Honours/CIMA, 8+ years in a managerial finance role, and a proven track record of process improvement, supplier negotiations, and mentoring staff.

Qualifications

• BCom qualification with CA preferable, or Honours / CIMA.
• 8+ years experience as Financial Manager.
• Highly proficient in Xero accounting software.
• Experience managing and mentoring staff.
• Experience in Logistics / Transport advantageous.
• Strong supplier problem solving and conflict resolution skills.
• Ability to think out of the box and improve systems.

Responsibilities

• Reporting into the Directors.
• Managing two accounts payable / finance administration staff.
• Month-end close: accruals, prepayments, provisions, depreciation, forex revaluation, payroll journals.
• Bank, creditors and control account reconciliations monthly.
• Produce monthly management accounts within deadlines.
• Manage income statement, balance sheet and cash flow.
• Oversee variance analysis against budget.
• Prepare the year-end file for external auditors.
• Review and sign off VAT201 returns.
• Oversee EMP201 and EMP501 submissions and reconciliations.
• Review and authorise the creditors payment run.
• Own the difficult supplier conversations personally involving rates disputes, delays, etc.
• Document, standardise and continuously improve accounting processes.
• Design and enforce internal controls, own the month-end close calendar.
• Maintain and optimise the Xero environment.
• Ensure finance records are audit-ready at all times.

Financial Manager (Logistics Sector) required in Constantia , Cape Town.

Do you have a solid track record where you have owned the full finance function at managerial level with excellent working knowledge on the system Xero?

Our client located in Constantia operating in the pressurised sector of logistics and transport requires your BCom Qualification, CA preferable, or Hons / CIMA etc.

This is a hands-on role requiring your attitude of improving systems not just running them. In this pressurised sector of Logistics and Transport you must be comfortable being the toughest person when dealing with supplier discrepancies and building strong relationships.

Requirements:
