Our client is seeking a dynamic Financial Manager to lead the finance department, working closely with their accounting team to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting. The ideal candidate will be eager to develop their skills within a fast-paced finance environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Oversee and review reconciliations and monthly accounting processes.
  2. Compile management reports and perform financial analysis.
  3. Manage cashflow, investments, and approve payments and collections.
  4. Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning.
  5. Ensure monthly reconciliation of control accounts, balance sheets, and income statements.
  6. Handle VAT and Income Tax calculations and returns.
  7. Prepare statutory and regulatory returns (FSCA, Prudential Authority, Reserve Bank, SARS, NAMFISA).
  8. Compile annual financial statements in compliance with IFRS.
  9. Provide financial insights to Regional Managers.
  10. Collaborate with internal and external auditors.
  11. Resolve discrepancies and long-outstanding items in balance sheet reconciliations.
  12. Drive improvements in systems, processes, and internal controls.
  13. Address ad hoc financial queries as needed.
Requirements:
  1. CA (SA) qualification with 2 years’ post-article experience.
  2. Experience in the Financial Services or Short-Term Insurance industry is an advantage.
  3. Strong technical skills with solid IFRS knowledge.
  4. Proficiency in MS Excel, MS Word, MS Outlook.
  5. Experience with accounting packages like Great Plains, SAP, or Accpac is beneficial.
