Job summary

Ideal candidates have a BCom Hons in Finance or Accounting and at least two years post articles experience, with strong leadership and stakeholder management skills to drive financial sustainability and operational efficiency.

Responsibilities

• Financial Control and Accounting Operations: Control and maintain the complete accounting system and strong internal controls.
• Financial Reporting and Compliance: Prepare monthly management accounts, IFRS compliance, and statutory returns.
• Budgeting, Forecasting and Performance Management: Manage annual budget and updated forecasts.
• Governance, Audit and Regulatory Engagement: Coordinate internal/external audits and BBBEE reporting.
• Facilities and Operational Oversight: Oversee facilities function and related expenditures.
• Leadership and Stakeholder Management: Lead finance and facilities teams and collaborate with HR.

EDUCATION:

Duties and Responsibilities

Financial Control and Accounting Operations

• Control and maintain the complete accounting system
• Implement, maintain, and enhance strong internal financial controls, including process improvements and automation
• Ensure accurate allocation and authorisation of all transactions and journals
• Oversee creditors and debtors processes to ensure accuracy and timeliness
• Oversee payroll processing and reporting in collaboration with Human Capital

Financial Reporting and Compliance

• Prepare accurate monthly management accounts with value-added analysis and commentary
• Ensure compliance with IFRS, including the implementation of new or amended accounting standards
• Prepare annual financial statements in accordance with IFRS
• Ensure submission and compliance with all statutory returns, including tax filings

Budgeting, Forecasting and Performance Management

• Compile, manage, and monitor the annual budget
• Prepare and update forecasts to support financial planning and decision-making

Governance, Audit and Regulatory Engagement

• Engage and coordinate internal and external audit processes
• Manage procurement data submission and verification for BBBEE reporting
• Ensure ongoing compliance with internal governance frameworks and regulatory requirements

Facilities and Operational Oversight

• Oversee the facilities management function
• Ensure appropriate financial controls over facilities-related expenditure and processes

Leadership and Stakeholder Management

• Lead, manage, and develop the finance and facilities teams to ensure high performance and accountability
• Build and maintain effective working relationships with Human Capital and other key stakeholders
