Job summary

Smith Garb And Associates Cc is seeking an experienced Finance Director (EE) to join the Executive Management Team in Gauteng. You will provide full financial stewardship, governance, risk management, and strategic leadership across the South African business.

Reporting to the Managing Director, the role requires strong P&L ownership, executive partnering, and a track record in multinational or industrial environments. Advanced Excel, SAP S/4HANA, BI tools, and Business Objects are essential.

Qualifications

• CA(SA) qualification is essential.
• Minimum 5 years' progressive financial leadership experience with increasing levels of responsibility.
• Executive-level business partnering and full P&L ownership.
• Experience in a multinational, distribution, or industrial environment is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic financial leadership to the MD and Executive Management Team.
• Drive performance through P&L management, planning, analysis, and commercial decisions.
• Ensure robust governance, statutory reporting, audits, tax, and risk management.
• Lead and develop the Finance function and oversee Corporate Services, IT, and BI teams.
• Champion cost optimisation, working capital improvements, and process improvements.
• Contribute to regional and global transformation initiatives aligned with Group objectives.

Are you a commercially astute CA(SA) with a passion for strategic leadership, financial governance, and business transformation?

An exciting opportunity has become available for an experienced Finance Director (EE) to join the Executive Management Team of a leading multinational Industrial Solutions / Electrical Component / Distribution organisation. Reporting directly to the Managing Director, you will play a pivotal role in shaping business strategy while providing full financial stewardship, governance, risk management, and commercial leadership across the South African business.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide strategic financial leadership as a trusted business partner to the Managing Director and Executive Management Team.
• Drive business performance through effective P&L management, financial planning, analysis, and commercial decision-making.
• Ensure robust financial governance, compliance, statutory reporting, audits, tax, and risk management.
• Lead and develop the Finance function while providing strategic oversight of Corporate Services and collaborating closely with IT and Business Intelligence teams.
• Champion operational excellence, cost optimisation, working capital improvements, and continuous process enhancement.
• Contribute to regional and global transformation initiatives aligned with Group objectives.

Advanced Excel skills, SAP4 Hana, Business Objects and BI tool proficiency essential

What We're Looking For

• CA(SA) qualification (essential).
• Minimum 5 years' progressive financial leadership experience with increasing levels of responsibility.
• Demonstrated executive-level business partnering and full P&L ownership.
• Strong expertise in IFRS, SA GAAP, UK GAAP, taxation, governance, statutory reporting, audits, compliance, and enterprise risk management.
• Experience within a multinational, distribution, or industrial environment is highly advantageous.
• Proven leadership experience across Finance, Corporate Services, and Compliance functions.
• Experience collaborating with or overseeing IT, Data, and Business Intelligence teams.
• Advanced analytical and reporting capabilities, with strong systems knowledge (SAP S/4HANA, Business Objects, BI tools, and advanced Excel advantageous).
