Job summary

Dis-Chem Life is seeking a precise Financial Accountant to support day-to-day finances, including creditors, payroll, reconciliations and reporting. The role requires integrity, confidentiality and timely financial insights for management.

You will work in a structured environment, ensure adherence to internal controls, and assist with year-end audits and financial statements, partnering with a supportive finance team in Gauteng.

Qualifications

• 2–3 years of experience in financial administration, bookkeeping, or accounting.
• Strong knowledge of internal controls, financial systems, and statutory regulations.
• Hands-on experience with accounting software (Xero advantageous).
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
• Experience preparing reconciliations, reports, and supporting audits.

Responsibilities

• Creditors: monitor invoices mailbox, process invoices, ensure VAT compliance, attach reconciliations.
• Payroll: upload payroll files, process payroll journals, prepare reconciliations.
• Management Accounts: prepare reports, support monthly accounts, ensure accuracy.
• Office Administration: order supplies, liaise with suppliers, maintain facilities.
• General: uphold policies, maintain confidentiality, adhere to timelines.
