Job summary

Tafadzwa Groblersdal is seeking a Chief Accountant to oversee and manage the Finance Department, ensuring accurate financial reporting and strong internal controls.

The role requires at least 5 years in a similar position, advanced Excel skills, and experience with SAGE Pastel Evolution. You will manage debtors and creditors, oversee month-end processes, and coordinate with external auditors.

Qualifications

• Relevant degree required.

• Knowledge of Foreign Exchange and financial statements.

Responsibilities

• Oversee debtors functions from transaction capture to payment and reconciliation.
• Ensure databases and accounting software integrations are complete.
• Balance intercompany accounts.
• Manage and report on credit risk.
• Input into cashflow forecasting.
• Ensure accuracy of all transaction processing.
• Perform General Ledger reconciliations.
• Process VAT and VAT returns.
• Raise and process journals.
• Handle month-end and year-end processes.
• Prepare general ledgers for management reporting.
• Monitor covenants compliance.
• Assemble information for external auditors.
• Maintain the chart of accounts.
• Report actuals against budget.
• Manage creditors department from transactions to payment and reconciliation.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Ensures full function of debtors is performed - from capturing transactions to payment and reconciliation
• Ensures completeness of databases and integrations into accounting software
• Balances intercompany accounts
• Manages and reports on credit risk
• Inputs into cashflow forecast
• Ensures accuracy and completeness of all transaction processing
• Performs General Ledger reconciliations
• Processes and manages VAT and VAT returns
• Raises and processes journals
• Processes month-end and year-end
• Prepares general ledgers for management reporting
• Monitors compliance with covenants
• Assembles information for the external auditors
• Maintains the chart of accounts
• Reports actuals against budget
• Manages the creditors department
