Job summary

Collinson Group is hiring a Financial Accountant to manage journal entries and reconciliations across multiple entities. You will ensure records comply with reporting standards and support month-end close processes.

The role requires 5+ years of financial accounting experience, strong Excel/ERP skills, and the ability to communicate complex financial information to non-financial stakeholders. Collaboration with stakeholders across functions is essential.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of financial accounting experience post articles completion.
• Secondary education qualifications.
• In progress of registering with a Professional Accounting Qualification (e.g., ACA/ACCA/CIMA) or higher education within an Accounting or Finance degree.
• MS Office competency (Outlook / Teams and Excel).
• Proficiency in using financial reporting tools and software (e.g. Excel, ERP systems).
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to convey financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
• Knowledge of accounting principles, financial regulations, and industry best practices.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and post approved journal entries, based on journal policies to record various financial transactions in accordance with the established operating procedures.
• Maintain a master list of monthly journal entries.
• Record supporting information for all journal entries
• Ensure that reversing entries occur and supporting information is recorded for all journal entries
• Create recurring journal entry templates and ensure that recurring entries are changed or terminated at appropriate trigger points
• Ensure that accruals and deferrals are recorded and adjusted appropriately so that revenues and expenses are recognised in the appropriate accounting periods
• Prepare and distribute financial management reports as required by the business
• Prepare month-end balance sheet reconciliations
• Run procedures to close general ledger and subledgers as part of the period end process
• Provide audit support specific to general accounting
• Overseeing the day-to-day activities and supporting training of Assistant Financial Accountants and Financial Assistants
• Establish and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders
