Placements24 is seeking a diligent Mid-Level Financial Accountant for a premier wine and spirits producer based in Stellenbosch, Western Cape. The role focuses on IFRS-compliant financial statements, general ledger integrity, and close collaboration with the finance team in a hands-on, office-based setting.

You’ll contribute to budgeting, forecasting, tax compliance, and audits, with a strong emphasis on accuracy, analysis, and teamwork.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required.
• CA(SA) or equivalent qualification preferred.
• Minimum 3–5 years of relevant accounting experience.
• Proficiency with Pastel, Xero and advanced MS Excel.
• Strong IFRS knowledge and SA tax awareness.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Effective communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Ability to work both in a team and independently.
• Experience in wine/agriculture/FMCG is a plus.
• Based in or willing to relocate to Stellenbosch, Western Cape.

Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual IFRS-compliant financial statements.
• Maintain and reconcile the general ledger.
• Oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable processes.
• Assist with budgeting and forecasting.
• Ensure VAT and income tax compliance.
• Support internal and external audits with documentation.
• Assist in developing accounting policies and procedures.
• Process journal entries, accruals and prepayments.
• Perform variance analysis and financial reporting as needed.

Our client, a distinguished wine and spirits producer in the picturesque region of Stellenbosch, Western Cape , is seeking a diligent and skilled Financial Accountant (Mid-Level) to join their established finance team. This role is integral to maintaining the financial health of the company, involving the preparation of financial statements, managing general ledger functions, and supporting financial analysis. Key Responsibilities

• Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with IFRS.
• Manage and maintain the general ledger, ensuring all accounts are reconciled.

Requirements
