Job summary

Pro Talent in Durban is seeking an Accountant to manage monthly close, journal entries, VAT, and balance sheet reconciliations within a Global FMCG structure. You will partner with internal stakeholders and support finance harmonization projects.

Ideal candidates hold a BCom Accounting degree with 3–5 years experience, strong Excel skills, and knowledge of SAP and AARO. Meticulous, deadline-driven professionals are encouraged to apply.

Qualifications

• Must have a BCom Accounting degree.
• 3–5 years Finance experience in FMCG in a multinational structure.
• Proficient with Excel and financial reporting systems; SAP and AARO.
• Project experience and implementations are advantageous.
• Be organized, deadline driven with strong numeric accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Ownership of timely completion, accurate monthly calculations and posting of journal entries.
• Reporting of sales and other related numbers at month end closing.
• Preparation of VAT calculations and timely VAT returns monthly.
• Complete month, quarter and year end closing processes accurately and on time.
• Preparation and analysis of balance sheet reconciliations.
• Respond to controls in place and drive process improvements to strengthen internal controls.
• Ensure smooth audits and fulfill internal audit requirements.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to obtain financial information.
• Support harmonization projects within Finance in South Africa.
• Identify improvements within current Finance processes and drive change.
• Support the Statutory Financial Manager with projects and daily operations.
