ProStaffSelect in Stellenbosch is seeking a hands-on Accountant with 4-6 years’ experience in FMCG/import environments. The role focuses on maintaining financial records, inventory valuation, landed costing, and related COGS reporting to support sound decision-making.

Qualifications

• B.Com Accounting, Finance, or related qualification.
• 4-6 years of experience in distribution, wholesale, FMCG, manufacturing or import environment.
• Experience with inventory reconciliations and valuation, landed costing, imports/FX, COGS reporting, balance sheet reconciliations, management accounts, budgeting and forecasting.
• Strong Microsoft Excel skills and experience with ERP and inventory management systems.

Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly management accounts and supporting schedules.
• Perform balance sheet reconciliations and maintain General Ledger integrity.
• Process and review journal entries, accruals and provisions.
• Assist with month-end and year-end reporting and external audits.
• Support budgeting and forecasting including cash flow and variance analysis.
• Maintain inventory valuations accuracy and monitor stock variances.
• Process import-related transactions and monitor foreign currency movements.
• Review expenditures for policy compliance and authorisation requirements.
• Support AR/AP reconciliations and cash flow monitoring.
• Identify process improvements and assist in implementing controls.
