Kula in Cape Town seeks a Financial Accountant to own the monthly accounting cycle for a portfolio of international clients. You'll manage bookkeeping, month-end closes, management accounts, VAT, and tax filings from a hybrid Cape Town base.

The role requires 2–5 years in accounting, a BCom, comfort with cloud platforms like Xero or QuickBooks Online, and strong Excel skills. You will collaborate with global teams and deliver accurate reports on time.

Financial Accountant (Monthly Accounting) — 2–5 years' experience

Cape Town (hybrid) | Full-time | Employed by Kula

Kula builds and runs South African finance teams for international companies — accounting firms, lenders, and growing businesses in the UK and Europe. You are employed by Kula in South Africa, with a formal SA employment contract (PAYE, UIF, leave — all handled properly), and you work as a dedicated member of one international client's team.

The role

You'll own the monthly accounting cycle for a portfolio of businesses: keeping the books accurate, closing the month, producing management accounts, and handling tax and VAT filings. You'll work directly with international colleagues and clients, so clear communication matters as much as technical accuracy.

What you'll do

• Full monthly bookkeeping and month-end close on cloud accounting software (Xero, QuickBooks Online or similar)

What we’re looking for

• 2–5 years' experience in an accounting practice, outsourced accounting, or a monthly-accounting role

• Able to run multiple entities or clients independently and hit deadlines without chasing
• Clear, proactive communicator — comfortable working directly with international clients

What you get
