Kempston Recruitment seeks a detail-oriented Accountant in East London, SA, to manage the full accounting function and ensure compliance. The role covers AP/AR, payroll, monthly reports, general ledger reconciliations, and statutory submissions including VAT and tax compliance.

The ideal candidate holds a BCom in Accounting or Financial Management, has completed articles, and brings strong Excel skills, with experience using accounting software. Driver's license is required.

Qualifications

• Matric and a completed BCom degree in Accounting or Financial Management.
• Articles completed at a recognised accounting firm – essential.
• Valid driver’s license and own reliable vehicle.
• Experience with accounting software systems is advantageous.

Responsabilités

• Manage the full accounting function, including Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, and Payroll
• Prepare and present monthly financial reports
• Maintain the general ledger, including reconciliations and compliance processes
• Manage statutory submissions and compliance requirements, including VAT, corporate tax, and related returns
• Assist the Finance Manager with reporting, analysis, budgeting, and ad hoc financial tasks
• Liaise with external auditors and provide supporting documentation during audit processes
• Ensure financial records are maintained accurately and in accordance with company policies and regulatory requirements

• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and proficiency in MS Office
• Experience working with accounting software systems
