• Preparing weekly and monthly management accounts and supporting audit.

Our client is seeking an experienced Financial Accountant to join their Cape Town-based group. The group’s core activities include property rentals and investments in listed shares. This is a hands‑on accounting role suited to a candidate with a strong technical accounting background who is comfortable taking ownership of the full accounting function.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Capturing creditors' invoices
• Issuing rental and services-rendered invoices
• Processing and capturing journals
• Reconciling accounts payable and accounts receivable
• Preparing and submitting VAT returns
• Calculating and reconciling interest received and interest payable
• Calculating and reconciling dividends received and dividends payable
• Capturing and processing bank payments
• Performing bank reconciliations
• Preparing weekly and monthly management accounts
• Ensuring the timely completion of the annual audit
• Implementing and maintaining effective accounting controls

REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor’s degree / Diploma in Accounting or a related field
• Completed articles with an auditing / accounting firm would be highly advantageous
