Job summary

EnableSA is seeking an experienced Head of Projects - Accounting to lead finance-related projects across the Port Elizabeth group. You will coordinate integration of new units, drive automation, and oversee consolidation and reporting improvements within a governance-focused environment.

The role requires 5+ years in finance/accounting, with senior-level experience in financial reporting, VAT/compliance, and external audits.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 (Matric) required.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Financial Management, or related field.
• CA(SA), CIMA, ACCA or equivalent qualification advantageous.
• 5–8 years' experience in a finance/accounting environment.
• Experience at senior accounting/financial reporting, finance transformation or project management level.
• Strong accounting and financial reporting experience.
• Group/company consolidations experience beneficial.
• Experience across multiple entities/business units beneficial.
• Experience managing finance-related projects.
• Experience in financial process improvement and optimisation.
• Experience with VAT and financial compliance processes.
• Experience with payment reviews and financial controls.
• Experience managing or coordinating external audits.
• Strong understanding of internal controls and financial governance.
• Experience working with senior management and executives.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate finance and accounting-related projects across the Group.
• Manage the integration of new business units, entities, systems and processes into the Group's accounting environment.
• Develop project plans, timelines, deliverables and milestones for finance-related projects.
• Coordinate with stakeholders to ensure timely and effective implementation.
• Identify risks, challenges and dependencies and implement solutions.
• Monitor project progress and provide updates to the Group CFO.
• Ensure finance projects align with governance requirements.
• Facilitate collaboration between finance, operations, IT and external service providers.
• Identify opportunities to improve efficiency of finance processes.
• Drive automation to reduce manual processing and improve accuracy.
• Review workflows to eliminate duplication and inefficiencies.
• Develop and implement improved financial reporting processes.
• Improve consolidation procedures and reporting timelines.
• Assist with implementation and optimisation of finance systems and reporting tools.
• Support group finance transformation initiatives and governance.
