Job summary

Communicate Finance in Cape Town seeks a senior tax and accounting professional to manage local and international tax matters, ensure compliance, and guide technical accounting across the business.

You will advise on IFRS, support financial reporting, liaise with auditors and authorities, and contribute to budgeting and strategic planning while mentoring teams.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years' post-articles experience.
  • Strong SA and international taxation experience.
  • Solid understanding of IFRS and technical accounting principles.
  • Experience with annual financial statements and audit processes.
  • Excellent Excel and ERP systems proficiency.
  • Ability to communicate complex financial matters clearly to stakeholders.
  • Research, analyse and interpret tax legislation and accounting standards.
  • Liaise with auditors, tax authorities and external advisors.
  • Support month-end and year-end reporting.
  • Contribute to budgeting, forecasting and strategic planning.
  • Identify opportunities to improve controls, reporting and financial processes.

Responsibilities

Job Description

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing direct and indirect tax matters, supporting international compliance requirements, and providing technical accounting guidance across the business. You will advise on the tax and accounting implications of business activities, structures, and transactions while supporting financial reporting, statutory compliance, audit processes, and strategic initiatives. The role requires a strong balance of technical excellence, commercial awareness, and the ability to engage confidently with both internal and external stakeholders.
