Job summary

Tiger Brands in Gauteng seeks a seasoned CA(SA) to lead financial management of a selected business unit. You will partner with the Category Financial Director to ensure IFRS-compliant records and robust financial controls, manage the FSSC team, and oversee balance sheet reconciliations, journals and reporting.

The role covers budgeting, forecasting, month-end and year-end processes, capex, forex compliance, and delivery of accurate management packs.

Qualifications

• Qualified CA(SA).
• Minimum of 5 years plant and operational experience.
• FMCG exposure.
• Strong communications, leadership and analytical skills.
• Strong finance business background.
• Advanced knowledge in the use of financial software applications.
• Be able to make sound and independent judgments.

Responsibilities

• Provide the Category Financial Director with strong financial support in all aspects of the business/category.
• Establish and lead the annual budget and quarterly forecast process for the business unit.
• Manage year-end process including the year-end financial and tax packs.
• Oversee month-end close and ensure accurate balance sheet reconciliations.
• Review journals and reconciliations prepared by FSSC accountants.
• Implement and maintain financial systems and controls; manage capex approvals.
• Provide financial inputs to ad hoc reports and insights for cross-functional teams.
• Lead and develop the FSSC reporting team to deliver timely and accurate outputs.

This role will partner with the Category Financial Director to provide the financial management of a selected business unit, ensuring all necessary procedures and policies are in place and are properly followed Focus on the integrity, accuracy and completeness of financial records in compliance with IFRS Managing the team of FSSC accountants and provide the review and oversight of balance sheet reconciliations and journals You will also review all financial reporting, including but not limited to, monthly management packs, budgets, forecasts, tax packs, audit packs and profit estimates

WHAT YOU WILL DO

• Provide the Category Financial Director with strong financial support in all aspects of the business/ Category including Marketing/ Innovation NPD Pricing scenario's
• Establish and lead the annual budget and quarterly forecast process of a selected business unit including all manufacturing sites and stock locations associated with the business unit/ Category
• Manage the year end process of a selected business unit/ Category including the review and submission of the year-end financial pack and tax pack
• Manage the month end close process for the selected business unit/ Category
• Provide financial inputs and ad hoc reports on all business-relate activities
• Review and approve the journals and reconciliations prepared by the financial accountants
• Complete capex's that is ready for the approval process Up to date list of capex's and position in approval process Implement and maintain proper financial systems and controls
• Review and oversight of all reporting, including, but not limited to, monthly management packs, budgets, forecasts, tax packs, audit packs and profit estimates
• You will deliver motivated, well trained and informed FSSC reporting team that deliver output and services according to expectations
• Manage foreign exchange transactions and ensure adherence to IFRS and Group forex policy
• Provide annual declaration of assets and business risks to be insured with adequate consideration given to replacement values and risk management issues
• Include but not limited to:
• Provide FD with strong Financial Support
• Establish and lead the annual budgets and forecast
• Manage year end process
• Manage month end close process
• Provide financial Inputs to ad hoc reports on business related activities
• Review Journals and Recons prepared by Financial Accountants
• Complete Capex that is ready for the approval process
• Implements and maintain financial systems and controls
• Review and have oversights of all reporting management packs, budgets forecasts tax packs and profit estimates
• Manage foreign exchange transactions
• Provide business support and partnering to all functions
