Job summary

Ten Lifestyle Group seeks a Finance Assistant to own day-to-day and month-end accounting for a group of international entities within our travel business. You will manage balance sheet substantiation, intercompany reconciliation, and close governance across multi-currency entities, liaising with the wider global finance team and external partners.

The role emphasizes accuracy, structured close processes, and proactive issue resolution, with hybrid work arrangements in Cape Town.

Qualifications

• Qualified or part-qualified ACCA/CIMA/ACA/SAICA/SAIPA or equivalent, or qualified by experience with strong reconciliation.
• At least 3 years’ experience in a multi-entity, multi-currency finance function.
• Hands-on experience with month-end close is essential.
• Proven experience in balance sheet reconciliations and reviews.
• Experience with intercompany accounting across at least two jurisdictions.
• Strong Microsoft Excel skills including lookups, pivot tables and large-volume matching.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and review the monthly balance sheet for the entities in scope, commenting on material balances and substantiating to supporting schedules.
• Substantiate balances to third-party evidence (bank statements, merchant settlement reports, supplier statements) and explain differences.
• Raise and post correcting journals independently and explain the double entry.
• Close out reviewer points and provide review commentary.
• Investigate and challenge unexplained balances rather than carrying them forward.
• Weekly reconciliation of bank accounts and merchant settlements; reconcile corporate cards.
• Complete reconciliations for intercompany balances across entities; maintain reconciliations for control accounts.
• Respond to finance mailbox queries, action payments and refunds, escalate balance-related issues.
• Support audits and ad-hoc finance team tasks.
