About the Role

Our client, a leading supplier of advanced agricultural machinery, is looking for a dedicated Field Support Technician to serve the Kimberley, Northern Cape region. Key Responsibilities

• Perform on-site diagnostics, maintenance, and repair of agricultural machinery (tractors, harvesters, implements, etc.).
• Respond promptly to service calls and customer requests to resolve equipment issues.
• Conduct pre-delivery inspections and ensure new machinery is correctly set up for clients.
• Perform routine servicing and preventative maintenance to ensure optimal equipment performance.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems on agricultural equipment.
• Maintain accurate service records, work orders, and parts usage reports using company systems.
• Adhere to all safety procedures and company policies while working on customer sites.
• Provide basic operator training and advice to customers on the proper use and maintenance of machinery.
• Manage and maintain your service vehicle, tools, and equipment.
• Liaise with the parts department and technical support teams to ensure timely resolution of issues.
• Stay updated on new product lines, technologies, and service procedures.

Requirements

• Proven experience in mechanical repair, preferably with agricultural, construction, or heavy machinery.
• Strong mechanical, hydraulic, and basic electrical diagnostic skills.
• Ability to interpret technical manuals, schematics, and diagnostic charts.
• Proficiency in using specialized tools and diagnostic equipment.
• Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
• Strong customer service and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport with clients.
• Ability to work independently and manage your schedule effectively in a field environment.
• Good physical condition and ability to perform tasks in varying weather conditions and environments.
• A valid driver's license is essential for travel throughout the Kimberley, Northern Cape region.
• Relevant technical qualifications or apprenticeships in diesel mechanics or related fields are highly advantageous.
