Job summary

Sandvik Mining is seeking a skilled Field Service Technician to install, repair, inspect and commission mining equipment at customer sites or company premises across the region. You will report results, maintain tools and gear for service work, and support the sales team by offering technical solutions and improvements.

A strong background in earth-moving equipment and electro-hydraulic systems is required, with a valid Code 08 license and Grade 12 or higher.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 (Matric) or equivalent qualification.
• Trade Certificate of Competence, e.g. Diesel Mechanic / Auto Electrical / Millwright.
• Minimum 2 years' experience as Field Service Technician with earth-moving equipment.
• Basic computer literacy.
• Own set of tools.
• English proficiency.
• Code 08 license.
• Full physical & medical certificate to work in mining environment.

• Responsible for plan, conduct and maintain tools and equipment for service work.
• Support the customer's product/equipment/processes by suggesting possible improvements.

• Guide colleagues in service methods and tools.
• Share own knowledge to enable colleagues to expand their knowledge.

The Role:

Get customer satisfaction by installing, repairing, inspecting and commissioning service, considering economical and other aspects. Problem solving by using of approaches, tools, techniques for recognizing, operational or process problems; ability to apply this knowledge appropriately in different kinds of situations. Knowledge of the tasks, tools and procedures associated with providing technical support to the sales team and prospective customers.

Your Profile:

• Grade 12 (Matric) or equivalent qualification
• Trade Certificate of Competence, if possible Diesel Mechanic, Auto Electrical, Millwright
• Minimum 2 year experience working as Field Service Technician with proven competence as Earth moving Equipment Technician in the above mentioned field
• Basic Computer literacy
• Own set of tools
• English proficiency
• Code 08 license
• Full physical & medical certificate to work in mining environment Experience in:
• Fault finding / electro hydraulic / auto electrical / hydraulic / PLC, remote control offerings
• Surface mining environment, maintaining of earth moving equipment
