Placements24 is seeking a diligent Field Service Technician to join the Installation & Maintenance team in Upington, Northern Cape. You will install, repair, and maintain specialized equipment at client sites, working autonomously with a hands-on, safety-conscious approach.

The role offers a company-provided service vehicle, tools, comprehensive health coverage, paid training, and a collaborative team culture. Travel within the Northern Cape is required, with overtime opportunities as needed.

Qualifications

• Experience as Field Service Technician or similar technical role.
• Ability to diagnose mechanical and electrical systems.
• Ability to read manuals, blueprints, and schematics.
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Good communication and customer service skills.
• Valid driver's license and willingness to travel within Northern Cape.

About the Role

Key Responsibilities

• Install, commission, and set up new equipment according to technical specifications and manufacturer guidelines.
• Perform regular preventative maintenance and diagnostic checks to ensure system reliability.
• Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, and software issues on-site.
• Respond to service calls efficiently and effectively, resolving issues in a timely manner.
• Maintain detailed service logs, reporting on work completed, parts used, and client feedback.
• Adhere to all safety protocols and operational procedures during service visits.

Requirements

• Previous experience as a Field Service Technician or in a similar technical role.
• Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing mechanical and electrical systems.
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics.
• Excellent problem‑solving skills and a methodical approach to troubleshooting.
• Strong customer service skills and the ability to communicate technical information clearly.
• Must possess a valid driver's license and be comfortable traveling within the Northern Cape .
