About the Role

Our client, a leading provider of climate control solutions, is seeking a skilled and customer-focused Field Installation and Service Technician to join their dynamic team in Paarl, Western Cape . This role is essential for delivering high-quality installation, maintenance, and repair services for a range of HVAC (Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning) systems for residential and commercial clients. You will be responsible for ensuring that systems are installed correctly, operating efficiently, and maintained to prolong their lifespan. The ideal candidate possesses strong technical expertise in HVAC systems, excellent diagnostic abilities, and superior customer service skills. This position involves significant on-site work, diagnosing and resolving issues, and performing installations and repairs. We are looking for a reliable, proactive individual who is committed to providing excellent service and maintaining our client's reputation for quality in the Western Cape region. This role offers a blend of field operations and occasional coordination from a local office.

Key Responsibilities

• Install new HVAC units, including air conditioners, furnaces, and ventilation systems, according to manufacturer specifications and safety standards.
• Perform routine maintenance and servicing on existing HVAC systems to ensure optimal performance and energy efficiency.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot system malfunctions, identifying causes of breakdowns and recommending appropriate repairs.
• Repair or replace faulty components such as compressors, thermostats, motors, and refrigerants.
• Conduct system checks, pressure tests, and refrigerant charging as required.
• Ensure all installations and service calls are completed efficiently and to the highest quality standards.
• Adhere strictly to safety protocols and environmental regulations, particularly concerning refrigerants.
• Provide clear explanations and recommendations to customers regarding system performance and maintenance needs.
• Maintain accurate service records, including work performed, parts used, and time spent on each job.
• Manage inventory of parts and tools in your service vehicle.

Requirements

• Proven experience as an HVAC Technician, with demonstrated skills in installation and repair.
• Solid understanding of HVAC principles, refrigeration cycles, and electrical systems.
• Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and equipment specific to HVAC systems.
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and blueprints.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Strong customer service and communication skills, with a professional attitude.
• Must hold relevant certifications (e.g., NTC/NHIETC registration, refrigerant handling license).
• Valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including occasional weekends and on-call duties.
• Physical ability to work in various environments, including confined spaces and heights.
