Placements24 is seeking an experienced Fiber Optic Deployment Manager to oversee end-to-end fiber deployments in and around Pretoria, Gauteng. This role blends on-site supervision with strategic planning, adopting a hybrid work model to balance project delivery with flexibility.

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field, or equivalent experience.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in project management for fiber optic deployments.
• Strong understanding of fiber optic technologies, splicing, testing and installation.
• Proficiency in MS Project and Primavera P6.
• Experience with GIS and CAD tools for network design and documentation.
• Knowledge of local permitting and utility coordination.
• Proven leadership and team management skills.
• Excellent organizational, problem-solving and negotiation abilities.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Valid driving license and willingness to travel to project sites.

About the Role

Our client, a prominent player in the telecommunications infrastructure sector, is seeking an experienced Fiber Optic Deployment Manager to oversee critical projects in and around Pretoria, Gauteng . This role requires a blend of on-site supervision and strategic planning, offering a hybrid work arrangement to balance operational needs with flexibility. You will be responsible for the end-to-end management of fiber optic network deployments, from initial planning and design through to construction, testing, and final handover. This position is vital for expanding our client's high-speed internet and communication services, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. You will lead teams of engineers, technicians, and contractors, fostering a safe and productive work environment. Key Responsibilities

• Manage all phases of fiber optic network deployment projects, including planning, design, permitting, construction, and commissioning.
• Develop detailed project plans, schedules, and budgets, and track progress against milestones.
• Lead and supervise project teams, including internal staff, subcontractors, and vendors.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant safety regulations, building codes, and industry standards.
• Coordinate with local authorities, utility companies, and property owners for access and right-of-way issues.
• Oversee the procurement of materials and equipment required for deployment.

Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in project management, specifically in fiber optic network deployment.
• Strong understanding of fiber optic technologies, splicing, testing, and installation methods.
• Proficiency in project management software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera P6).
• Experience with GIS and CAD tools for network design and documentation.
