Placements24 seeks a motivated Farm Operations Assistant to support the management team at a Welkom farm, Free State. This entry-level to mid-level role offers hands-on experience across agricultural disciplines and contributes to daily operations.

You will perform planting, cultivation, harvests, equipment maintenance, livestock care if applicable, irrigation support, and general farm upkeep. A strong work ethic, willingness to learn, and teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

Experience on a farm or agricultural role is advantageous.
Basic knowledge of farming practices and equipment operation.
Ability to perform physically demanding tasks in various weather conditions.
Willingness to learn and adapt to different farm tasks.
Good teamwork and ability to follow directions.
A valid driver’s license is beneficial.

Responsibilities

Assist in planting, cultivation, and harvesting of crops according to farm schedules.
Perform routine maintenance on farm equipment and tools.
Care and feeding of livestock, if applicable to the farm's operations.
Support irrigation systems and water management practices.
Conduct general farm upkeep and maintenance of facilities and grounds.
Follow instructions from farm supervisors and management diligently.
