About the Role

Our client is looking for a proficient Farm Mechanization Specialist to join their agricultural operations based in Rustenburg, North West . This role is pivotal in ensuring the efficient and effective use of farm machinery and equipment. You will be responsible for the maintenance, repair, and optimal deployment of all agricultural vehicles and implements, as well as advising on the selection and acquisition of new technologies. The ideal candidate possesses a strong mechanical aptitude, a deep understanding of modern agricultural equipment, and a commitment to minimizing downtime and maximizing operational efficiency for our client's diverse farming activities in the region.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee the maintenance, servicing, and repair of all farm tractors, harvesters, planters, and other machinery.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues with farm equipment promptly.
• Develop and implement preventative maintenance schedules to minimize breakdowns.
• Advise on the selection, purchase, and implementation of new agricultural machinery and technologies.
• Train farm operators on the safe and efficient use of equipment.
• Manage inventory of spare parts and ensure cost-effective procurement.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Mechanization Specialist , Agricultural Mechanic, or in a similar technical role within the agricultural sector.
• Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, electrical systems, and agricultural machinery operations.
• Experience with GPS-guided farming systems and precision agriculture technology.
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.
• A relevant technical qualification in mechanical engineering or agricultural machinery is advantageous.
