Job summary

Qualifications

• Matric certificate (Grade 12) is essential.
• A relevant tertiary qualification in Agriculture (degree or diploma), or completion of well-recognised agricultural courses.
• Minimum of 3 to 5 years proven experience as a Farm Manager, preferably in large-scale pome fruit production.
• Practical knowledge of fertilization programs and nutrient management.
• Crop protection strategies and pest control.
• Irrigation systems and scheduling.
• Familiarity with SEDEX/SMETA audits, GlobalG.A.P. standards, and workforce compliance management.
• Experience in labour audits and basic labour law knowledge.
• Strong leadership and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and implement problem-solving strategies.
• Proficient in basic Microsoft Excel (data capture and reporting).
• Fluent in Afrikaans and English (spoken and written).

• Minimum of 3 to 5 years proven experience as a Farm Manager, preferably in large-scale pome fruit production – apples, pears, or at least citrus (100Ha)
• Practical knowledge of:
  • Fertilization programs and nutrient management
  • Crop protection strategies and pest control
  • Irrigation systems and scheduling
• Familiarity with SEDEX/SMETA audits, Global G.A.P. standards, and workforce compliance management
• Experience in labour audits and good understanding of labour legislation (basic knowledge of labour law is essential)
• Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate teams and drive productivity
• Ability to work independently, take initiative, and implement effective problem-solving strategies
• Proficient in basic Microsoft Excel (data capturing, productivity tracking, and reporting)
• Fluent in Afrikaans and English (spoken and written)
