Placements24 is seeking an experienced Farm Manager for a diversified agricultural operation in Mahikeng, North West. You will oversee both crop production and livestock programs, lead a team, and manage budgets for sustainable profitability and growth.

The role requires a strong track record in managing diverse agricultural enterprises, hands-on leadership, and the ability to implement efficient farm plans and compliance with regulations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Agriculture, Agronomy, Animal Science, or a related field.
• 5-7 years of experience in farm management, with exposure to both crop and livestock operations.
• Strong knowledge of crop production techniques suitable for the North West region.
• Proven experience in livestock management (cattle, sheep, or goats).
• Excellent leadership, organisational, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all aspects of crop production, including planning, planting, cultivation, pest control, and harvesting.
• Manage livestock operations, ensuring animal health, welfare, and efficient breeding and feeding programs.
• Develop and implement annual farm plans and budgets for both crop and livestock enterprises.
• Supervise, train, and motivate farm staff, ensuring optimal performance and safety.
• Manage farm equipment, infrastructure, and resources (water, soil, feed) efficiently.
• Monitor crop and livestock performance, identify issues, and implement corrective actions.
• Ensure compliance with all agricultural, environmental, and safety regulations.
• Maintain accurate records of farm activities, financial transactions, yields, and livestock data.
• Source and manage inputs such as seeds, fertilisers, feed, and veterinary supplies.
• Liaise with suppliers, buyers, and agricultural service providers.
• Implement and promote sustainable farming practices across the farm.
