Qualificações

• Bachelor's degree in Agriculture, Agronomy, Animal Science, or a related field.
• 5-7 years of experience in farm management, with exposure to both crop and livestock operations.
• Strong knowledge of crop production techniques suitable for the North West region.
• Proven experience in livestock management (cattle, sheep, or goats).
• Excellent leadership, organisational, and problem-solving skills.

Responsabilidades

• Oversee all aspects of crop production, including planning, planting, cultivation, pest control, and harvesting.
• Manage livestock operations, ensuring animal health, welfare, and efficient breeding and feeding programs.
• Develop and implement annual farm plans and budgets for both crop and livestock enterprises.
• Supervise, train, and motivate farm staff, ensuring optimal performance and safety.
• Manage farm equipment, infrastructure, and resources (water, soil, feed) efficiently.
• Monitor crop and livestock performance, identify issues, and implement corrective actions.
• Ensure compliance with all agricultural, environmental, and safety regulations.
• Maintain accurate records of farm activities, financial transactions, yields, and livestock data.
• Source and manage inputs such as seeds, fertilisers, feed, and veterinary supplies.
• Liaise with suppliers, buyers, and agricultural service providers.
• Implement and promote sustainable farming practices across the farm.

About the Role

Our client, a diversified agricultural operation, is seeking an experienced and adaptable Farm Manager to oversee their mixed farming operations in Mahikeng, North West . This role requires a comprehensive understanding of both crop cultivation and livestock management, as the successful candidate will be responsible for the efficient operation of both aspects of the farm. The Farm Manager will lead a team, manage resources, and implement strategies to optimise productivity, profitability, and sustainability across the entire farm.
