Job summary

Vine Recruitment is seeking a Farm Manager for a Wellington-based operation with strong viticultural and general agricultural experience. The role leads vineyards, olive groves, and artichoke fields, and ensures equipment upkeep and efficient farming operations.

You’ll work closely with the winemaker and management team to optimize grape production, while motivating and upskilling the vineyard workforce and ensuring regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Minimum 10 years’ experience in Viticulture and Farm Management.
• Relevant tertiary qualification required.
• Excellent verbal and written communication in Afrikaans and English.
• Strong knowledge of agricultural best practices and trends.
• Familiarity with technology and software for farm management.

Farm Manager position available in Wellington.

Our client in Wellington is looking for a Farm Manager with a strong viticultural and general agricultural background to join their team.

The ideal candidate has strong leadership skills, is an excellent communicator, and has good knowledge of maintenance and mechanical practices in the farming sector.

The successful candidate will be responsible for management of the vineyards, olive groves and artichoke fields, as well as the upkeep of the implements and vehicles.

The role requires an individual who will work closely with the winemaker and the rest of the management team, to ensure optimal grape production for winemaking and efficient, profitable agricultural operations.

The incumbent must demonstrate the ability to effectively motivate, inspire and upskill the team of vineyard workers, focusing on the enhancement of their skills and level of output.
