Job summary

Vine Recruitment is seeking a driven Farm Manager in the Villiersdorp area to take full responsibility for a farming unit. You will plan, supervise production activities and lead a team to meet fruit production targets.

The ideal candidate has extensive experience in fruit production (preferably pome fruit), strong people skills, and a hands-on approach with a track record in quality compliance such as GlobalG.A.P. and SIZA.

Qualifications

• At least 10 years’ experience in fruit production, preferably pome fruit.
• Strong people management and communication skills.
• Experience with GlobalG.A.P. and SIZA quality systems.
• Sound technical knowledge relevant to pome fruit production.
• Hands-on approach and genuine passion for farming.

Responsibilities

• Full management of all production activities associated with the farming unit.
• Planning, coordinating and monitoring fruit production operations.
• Managing and supervising employees and production teams.
• Ensuring compliance with quality, safety and agricultural standards.
• Maintaining GlobalG.A.P., SIZA and other relevant quality management systems.
• Monitoring production performance and implementing improvements where required.
• Ensuring efficient use of labour, equipment and other farming resources.
• Managing the unit independently and taking full accountability for day‑to‑day operations.

Minimum Requirements:

• Matric with an agricultural qualification and/or
• At least 10 years’ experience in fruit production, preferably pome fruit.

• Basic computer literacy, including Excel.
• Experience in maintaining and implementing quality management systems such as GlobalG.A.P. and SIZA.
