Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a skilled Agricultural Equipment Technician in Stellenbosch to maintain, repair, and service tractors, harvesters, and other farm machinery. You will diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues and ensure equipment operates safely and efficiently.

The role emphasizes hands-on diagnostics, routine servicing, and accurate record-keeping, with opportunities for training on new technologies and a competitive compensation package.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as Agricultural Equipment Technician or similar mechanical role.
• Strong knowledge of agricultural machinery, engines, hydraulics, and electrical systems.
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, diagrams, and schematics.
• Proficiency with diagnostic tools and equipment.
• Valid driver''s license and the ability to operate farm machinery safely.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance, inspections, and servicing on various agricultural machines.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues in tractors, combines, and other farm equipment.
• Conduct comprehensive troubleshooting to identify the root cause of equipment malfunctions.
• Maintain accurate records of all service and repair work performed, including parts used and time.
• Ensure all equipment is functioning safely and efficiently according to manufacturer specifications.
• Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns and provide timely repair services to minimize operational disruption.
• Advise farm managers on equipment condition and necessary repairs or upgrades.
