Job summary

Placements24 is partnering with a client in Randburg to appoint a dedicated Farm Health and Safety Officer. The role focuses on implementing robust health and safety protocols across agricultural operations, conducting inspections, and driving a strong safety culture to protect workers and ensure operational integrity.

The successful candidate will have a National Diploma in OHS or equivalent, proven experience in safety within agriculture, and solid knowledge of relevant legislation.

Qualifications

• National Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety or equivalent qualification.
• Proven experience as a Health and Safety Officer, preferably in agriculture.
• Strong knowledge of health and safety legislation and best practices.
• Ability to conduct risk assessments and develop safety procedures.
• Excellent communication, training, and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and enforce comprehensive health and safety policies and procedures on the farm.
• Conduct regular risk assessments and safety inspections of farm activities, equipment, and facilities.
• Investigate all accidents, injuries, and near misses, recommending and implementing corrective actions.
• Organize and deliver safety training programs for all farm employees.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant health and safety legislation and standards.
