Placements24 is seeking a compassionate Family Support Worker in East London, Eastern Cape to assist families with childcare and parenting. You will provide in-home guidance, connect families to services, and support children’s development through practical activities and empathetic support.

The role requires 2+ years working with families, knowledge of child development, and the ability to build trust with diverse communities.

Formación

• Excellent communication, listening and empathetic skills are required.
• Strong knowledge of child development and family dynamics.
• Ability to build rapport and trust with diverse families.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transport for home visits.
• Reside in East London or be willing to relocate.

Responsabilidades

• Provide direct support and guidance to families in their homes.
• Assist parents in developing positive parenting skills and strategies.
• Help families access childcare, education and health services.
• Engage children in age-appropriate activities to promote development.
• Offer emotional support and encouragement to parents.
• Monitor safety and well-being of children within the family unit.
• Develop and implement individualized family support plans.
• Facilitate parent-child interaction and strengthen family bonds.
• Maintain confidential client records and documentation.
• Collaborate with social workers, educators and other service providers.
• Conduct home visits to assess family needs and provide support.
