Placements24 is seeking a proactive Facilities Maintenance Engineer to oversee upkeep and operational integrity of facilities in Polokwane, Limpopo. The role covers preventive, corrective, and emergency repairs across electrical, mechanical, plumbing, and structural systems.

You will develop maintenance programs, manage projects, coordinate with contractors, ensure health and safety compliance, and maintain detailed asset records.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in facilities management or maintenance engineering.
• Strong understanding of building systems including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and fire safety.
• Experience in project management and vendor coordination.
• Proficiency in maintenance management software and reporting tools.
• Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement preventative maintenance programs for all building systems and equipment.
• Oversee and execute corrective maintenance tasks across electrical, mechanical, and plumbing systems.
• Manage facility infrastructure projects, including minor renovations and upgrades, ensuring compliance with codes and standards.
• Coordinate with external contractors and service providers to ensure quality and schedules.
• Ensure all facilities comply with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
• Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, equipment performance, and facility assets.
