Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a qualified Facilities Engineer with a strong Oil & Gas background to join our Mossel Bay team. You will ensure reliable operation, maintenance, and integrity of production facilities and infrastructure, and lead maintenance programs and minor projects.

This role requires a Bachelor's in Mechanical or Civil Engineering, at least 5 years of facilities engineering experience in oil & gas, and solid knowledge of RBI, asset integrity, and project/contract management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Civil Engineering required.
• Minimum of 5 years experience in facilities engineering or maintenance in Oil & Gas.
• Proven experience in planning, scheduling, and executing maintenance activities.

Responsibilities

• Develop and manage preventive and corrective maintenance programs for production facilities and pipelines.
• Oversee maintenance contractors ensuring safety, quality and efficiency.
• Troubleshoot and resolve operational issues related to facility equipment and systems.
• Plan and supervise minor modification and capital projects for facility upgrades.
• Ensure compliance with engineering standards, regulatory requirements, and HSE policies.
• Maintain records of maintenance activities, asset integrity status, and performance.

About the Role

Our client is seeking a qualified Facilities Engineer with a background in the Oil & Gas sector to join their team in Mossel Bay. This role focuses on ensuring the reliable operation, maintenance, and integrity of all production facilities and infrastructure. You will be responsible for managing maintenance programs, overseeing repair activities, and implementing projects to upgrade or expand facility capabilities. Key Responsibilities

• Develop and manage the execution of preventative and corrective maintenance programs for production facilities, pipelines, and associated equipment.
• Oversee maintenance contractors and ensure work is performed safely, efficiently, and to quality standards.
• Troubleshoot and resolve operational issues related to facility equipment and systems.
• Plan and supervise minor modification projects and capital expenditure projects related to facility upgrades.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant engineering standards, regulatory requirements, and company HSE policies.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, asset integrity status, and operational performance.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in facilities engineering or maintenance, with significant exposure to the Oil & Gas industry.
• Proven experience in managing maintenance activities, including planning, scheduling, and execution.
• Knowledge of rotating equipment, static equipment, piping systems, and instrumentation.
• Familiarity with asset integrity management principles and risk-based inspection (RBI) concepts.
• Strong project management and contract management skills.
