Job summary

Fempower Personnel seeks a Fabrication Supervisor in Gauteng to oversee materials management, stock control, and to ensure products meet quality standards and deadlines.

The role requires 3+ years in production planning and supervision, with knowledge of Autocad and Excel, and understanding of welding and cutting processes. You will coordinate with planning, stores, maintenance and procurement to guarantee material availability and safe, efficient operations.

Qualifications

• NQF Level 5/6 in Engineering or related field required.
• Thorough understanding of mechanical drawings advantageous.
• Proficiency in Autocad and Excel desired.

Responsibilities

• Daily/weekly Production Planning for oxyfuel cutting and fabrication.
• Monitor plan vs actual to ensure efficiency and zero production loss.
• Ensure compliance with SOPs and safe work practices.
• Prepare daily and monthly MIS.
• Ensure availability of all material, including consumables.
• Raise requisitions for material and maintain housekeeping.
• Weekly stock takes and interdepartmental communications.
• Liaise with planning, stores, fabrication, maintenance and procurement for material availability.

Purpose Of The Job

The Fabrication Supervisor is responsible for materials management and stock control ensure products meets Company quality standard and delivered in time. He is also responsible to analyse performance and reconcile material usage.

Key Performance Areas

(This is not an exhaustive list of functions to be carried out).

To perform the following tasks:

• Daily/weekly Production Planning for Oxyfuel cutting and Fabrication

• Monitoring plan vs actual on a daily basis an ensuring optimal efficiency and zero loss to production.

• Ensuring compliance to SOP.

• Preparing daily and monthly MIS.

• Ensuring availability of all material, including consumables.

• Raising requisitions for material

• Ensure good housekeeping.

• Ensure safe work practices.
  Monitor raw material usage by:
  

• recording rejects/rework

• Weekly stock take

• Interdepartmental communications

• Liaise with planning head for daily/weekly planning

• Liaise with Stores/Fabrication for material requirement

• Liaise with Maintenance for machine upkeeping

• Liaise with Procurement for material availability

Experience

Production Planning/Supervisor in manufacturing environment +3 years

Qualifications

• NQF Level 5/6 in Engineering or a related field/Thorough understanding of mechanical drawings

• Good at Autocad and Excel

• Knowledge of welding and cutting process, hand tools, blasting.

• Knowledge of TQM / 5S / QC tools would be advantage.
