Job summary

Sakata Vegetables Europe S.A.S. is seeking an External Trial Officer based in Lanseria, Gauteng. You will join the local Product Development team to support new vegetable varieties and collaborate with the Product Specialist, Sales Team, and the international Sakata group.

You will manage seasonal trials, layout, implementation, evaluation and data reporting, while coordinating packing of trial seeds and supporting crop management activities as part of a dynamic field team.

Qualifications

• Must hold a tertiary qualification.
• Good knowledge of agronomy and irrigation.
• Strong written and spoken English skills.
• Valid driver’s license.

You will be joining Sakata’s local Product Development Team that focuses on introducing new vegetable varieties into the market. You will follow the requirements defined by the Product Specialist and Sales Team in conjunction with the greater Sakata international group.

Where will you work?

You will be based in Lanseria. Gauteng. Your manager is based at Sakata`s head office in Gauteng.

Do you fit this profile?

You have:

• a tertiary qualification
• a good knowledge of agronomy and irrigation
• a good level of English, both written and spoken
• a valid driver’s license

You are:

• willing to work flexible hours
• willing to travel extensively early mornings/late afternoons/evenings
• overnight if operationally required (B&B/Guesthouse)
• able to work under pressure
• computer literate
• able to work within deadlines, with good personal time management
• a team player who finds it easy to communicate and collaborate within the team and with other departments
