Job summary

ProProcess in Gauteng, South Africa, is seeking a Sales Engineer to guide clients through technical qualification and translate needs into modular solutions. The External Sales Engineer drives technical discussions, shapes early concepts, and ensures clarity before proposals are developed.

You will engage with clients, define preliminary scopes, and contribute to high-level ROM estimates and modular recommendations. A background in engineering with sales experience is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemical, Mechanical, or Process Engineering or related technical field.
• 3–5 years’ external/client facing experience in technical/equipment sales, solution engineering, or process engineering.
• Mining industry experience is advantageous.
• Experience in modular process equipment, FEED/EPC/EPS environments, or industrial process plants is advantageous.
• Proven ability to conduct technical conversations with clients and shape early scope definitions.
• CRM proficiency and strong documentation discipline.

Responsibilities

• Lead technical qualification sessions with clients to clarify challenges, applications, modular fit, and constraints.
• Define the preliminary technical scope outline, options, and modular applicability before Proposals becomes involved.
• Prepare high-level solution concepts, ROM estimates, and modular recommendations aligned with client needs.
• Collaborate with the Pursuit Manager to shape win strategies, differentiators, and value propositions.
• Track each opportunity through the CRM with rigor, ensuring pipeline accuracy and visibility.
• Work with Engineering, BD, Proposals, and Lifecycle Services to ensure alignment across pursuit stages.
