Placements24 seeks a Geoscientist (Exploration) based in Rustenburg to identify hydrocarbon prospects through seismic, well, and geological data interpretation. You will build subsurface models, assess risk, and guide exploration strategies within a multidisciplinary team in the Oil & Gas sector.

The role demands a strong background in geology/geophysics, 5+ years of relevant experience, and proficiency with seismic interpretation and modeling software.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree or PhD in Geology, Geophysics, or related Earth Science discipline.
• Minimum of 5 years of relevant hydrocarbon exploration geology or geophysics experience.
• Proficiency in seismic interpretation, well log analysis, and modeling software.
• Strong understanding of basin analysis, structural geology and sedimentology.

Responsibilities

• Interpret and analyze geological and geophysical data to identify hydrocarbon prospects.
• Integrate seismic data, well logs, cores, and regional geology to build subsurface models.
• Perform prospect risking and volumetric assessments with clear recommendations.
• Use advanced software and visualization tools for data processing and interpretation.
• Collaborate with reservoir and drilling engineers on exploration projects.
• Contribute to exploration strategies and work programs.
